Home visits are specifically for patients who are genuinely housebound or are too ill to attend the surgery.  The doctors are able to see several patients in surgery in the time it takes to carry out one home visit so we do ask that you make every effort to attend the surgery.

Ideally visit requests should be made to the surgery by 10.30am in order that the doctors may organise the visit workload effectively and you will need to give the receptionists brief information about the problem so that calls can be prioritised and dealt with promptly and appropriately.

Our visits are carried out by GPs from the practice, or a member of staff from the Assessment and Care Team (working across Central Bournemouth) or community practitioner employed by Dorset Healthcare. All requests are checked clinically to be able to allocate the most appropriate member of staff.
